Learning about testing; working on cleaning up and building into a template engine I found.

May 21, 2020

There hasn't been much to report over the past couple of days as I've been pretty much working on the same thing. In my last update, I talked about coming across a stripped down, yet highly functional template engine to work with. I've since forked the project to play with the code. Part of the package included a test suite based in Mocha and Chai. This led me on a search to learn about testing paradigms and libraries. I came across an article that discussed testing without using a library, and if you've been following along, you know by now that this is right up my alley. Though super simplified, I may be able to extrapolate the concepts to be able to test everything I might need to, though I'm still very much new to the whole thing.

And yes yes yes, I know, I should have already been testing from day one. I have no excuses for not doing so; I just didn't want to.

Also, I'm adding in html tags here to see if they populate in the text field, or if they get rendered. I'm still learning about this whole templating thing works ...
